 Wood-Mizer Products, Inc. opened its eighth Authorized Sales Center in the United States with their newest location in Perkinston, Mississippi. The company has worked for a number of years to make sales and service more accessible to customers and potential customer. In December 2001, Wood-Mizer augmented its four, regional branch locations with the opening of its first Authorized Sales Center.
The facility is managed by Tim and Evelyn Garrison. The family runs a successful sawing business, Beatrice Sawmill, where they supply the area with construction lumber. They are veteran Wood-Mizer operators and use an LT70, LT40 Super Hydraulic and an LT15 in their operation.
Dave Mann, VP of the Sawmill Division, explains that Authorized Sales Centers offer customers a place to see sawmill demonstrations before their purchase, receive new mill training, and have access to some common blades and parts. "We are diligent in our effort to shorten the road between Wood-Mizer and our growing list of customers," he comments. "Our Authorized Sales Centers bring Wood-Mizer's equipment and legendary support closer to home," he concludes.
Garrison has been working closely with the Wood-Mizer South branch in Georgia since Hurricane Katrina devastated the area. In September 2005, Wood-Mizer set up a temporary pick up location at his homestead; making purchasing mills as easy as possible. Since the storm, Wood-Mizer has delivered numerous truckloads of new sawmills to Garrison's property for new owners. The company stated that establishing Mississippi as an Authorized Sales Center was a natural transition.
