Mohogany and Pine Bring Warmth to Kitchen Cabinets

The old doors on the kitchen cabinets in Peter Barlem's home were "falling apart," according to Peter. It was time to build some new ones; a perfect job for Peter and his Wood-Mizer.

Peter lives in Olds, Alberta and is a customer of Wood-Mizer Canada. He used his Wood-Mizer sawmill to cut mahogany stiles and rails and Lodge Pole pine for the raised panels on his cabinet doors. In all, he built 30 cabinet doors of various dimensions in one month.

How do they look? Apparently, they look good. "It is more my wife who appreciates the kitchen," Peter says. "I like the fact that all of the pine that I used came from the same tree. The mahogany was resawn from 4x6's."

The efficiency of the Wood-Mizer saved Peter $5,000, he figures but his wife's satisfaction with the cabinet doors is priceless.
