Sawyer Peter Nyberg demonstrates mill at Architectural firm
Peter Nyberg of CT Logs to Lumber, LLC brought his portable sawmill to Centerbrook Architecture recently to demonstrate how raw timber – wherever it may lie, bark and all – can be turned into boards and beams for buildings. He set up his mobile mill in 20 minutes, and in less than two hours he reduced two sizable red oak trunks (courtesy of local arborist Town Burns) into roughly 500 board feet of useable lumber – plus “waste” slabs for my wood stove.

'Bibbyman' shares his experience with Wood-Mizer over the years
After getting the Wood-Mizer sawmill, We started selling lumber and then got some grade lumber dried and started selling that. Then the customers wanted it planed so we got a planer. We built buildings, got a bigger tractor, got a flat bed truck, then later a new flat bed, two blade edger, added to the buildings, expanded the log lot, started selling grade lumber off the mill to brokers, started making specialty products like survey stakes, etc.
