Lumber by Lance Urban Forestry
Lumber by Lance has been bringing their sawmill to your front yard, and turning trees into fine quality lumber for over 18 years.

Jim Lance has a passion for turning Urban Forests into Final form.

Whether it's a single Cypress log, or a couple Cherry trees, maytbe a few dozen Big Ole Pines (which was used for the World Famous Ginnie Springs dive shop) the money Lumber by Lance saves you will more than pay for expert quality old world craftsmanship. The lumber will be transformed in many uses, like flooring, cabinets, furniture, counter tops, or maybe timber frame the whole house.

For the Love of Trees - Salvaging 'Waste' Trees from the Landfill
George Hessenthaler likes trees better than people.

But who wouldn't, when you see in trees what he does?Potential. Depth. Character. Each burl as distinctive as a Scottish burr.

Hessenthaler is president, poet-in-residence and broom pusher of Urban Forest Wood Works, the only mill in Utah that specializes in society's cast-offs and orphans -- the city trees that otherwise would be mulched or burned in a landfill. Meaning trash trees like locust, cottonwood or Russian olive. Excerpt from article by The Standard.

Sawyer Peter Nyberg demonstrates mill at Architectural firm
Peter Nyberg of CT Logs to Lumber, LLC brought his portable sawmill to Centerbrook Architecture recently to demonstrate how raw timber – wherever it may lie, bark and all – can be turned into boards and beams for buildings. He set up his mobile mill in 20 minutes, and in less than two hours he reduced two sizable red oak trunks (courtesy of local arborist Town Burns) into roughly 500 board feet of useable lumber – plus “waste” slabs for my wood stove.

Wood-Mizer Sawmill in Congo, Africa
Glen Chapman interviews people who work at or use wood produced at Kikongo's saw mill, and finds out how it has helped the area.
