Jim Oseychuk’s 30’ x 46’, three-story family home has a total of 2,400 square feet; is located in Golden, British Columbia, Canada; and is a masterpiece to behold. He hired a cabinet maker friend to make these cabinets from his quarter sawn lumber. The cabinets are all made from a single fir tree, 720 years old and five-feet in diameter, which he salvaged from a lightning strike fire.
In 1993, Jim purchased an LT40 mill and has made his living ever since with a Wood-Mizer as the central piece of a custom sawing operation. “I have a love of wood and do specialty wood orders for various clients, including the government and many who share this same passion,” says Jim. “I began in 1993 with a newly purchased LT40 mill and now am on my third mill,” he adds. He has obviously gotten good use out of them and crafted a truly unique home.
