Horizontal Thin-Kerf Headrig

Used daily in wood processing operations all over the world, the WM3000 (formerly known as the LT300) works great as a principal breakdown headrig or as a supporting saw in a larger production environment, providing a high recovery rate from high grade logs.

Turn up to 36" diameter logs into boards or cants quickly with help from the bidirectional chain turner, hydraulic rollers, and heavy duty log clamp. The 1.75" wide blades rips through logs with the power of the 30 HP electric motor. Easily saw 20' long logs with the standard bed, or add the optional bed extensions for
sawing up to 31' logs.
.
The thin-kerf revolution continues with this versatile proven performer, making you money by cutting costs larger machines can’t.

Production Capabilities
• Lumber
Grade, Dimensional, Flooring, Reclaimed, Pallet
• Cants/Beams
Pallet stock, truck mats, railroad ties, timber frame, post, fencing

The WM3000 is ideal to:
• Launch a startup sawmill operation.
• Add to a circle mill operation to get the most profit out of high grade and irregular logs.
• Add to a thin-kerf operation to boost productivity with a smaller initial investment.
• Replace a growing portable sawmill operation to meet increasing production requirements.

Options

A cab with a lockable door is an option to enclose the operator’s station, providing added levels of safety, sound isolation, and protection from the environment. Studies show that increased climate control results in increased operator performance.

Log loading arms can be added to the WM3000 to lift logs from the floor or from a dead log deck, or onto the machine with a live deck but no tipple.

A heating/air conditioning unit can be added to the cab for further climate control. The heater is rated at 5600 BTU’s and the air conditioner is rated at 7000 BTU’s

Solid steel wheels are available as an option on the WM3000.

Extend blade life with a debarker unit which cleans the log before each cut, preventing blades from running into anything that can damage them.

Don't just take our word for it! Look at these responses we've received from WM3000 owners!

"We did our homework, visited other mills and ran the numbers before deciding what equipment to purchase and install at Natchez Hardwoods. We discovered that the AWMV LT300 with its .100 inch kerf was the fastest and best headrig on the market and could produce more cants a day than any other for the initial investment." Bruce Reynolds, Natchez Hardwoods

"I have become an [Wood-Mizer industrial] fan. The thin kerf blades give us an up tick in production of 30% or more. The machines are very reliable and the service from Wood Mizer is unsurpassed. Choosing the [WM3000] was an easy decision." Darrell G

"Thinner kerfs mean more boards, higher quality boards and less sawdust from the best logs. In this way Tigerton Lumber is able to be more productive, more competitive and more profitable." Tom O.
For six years, Ed Robbins struggled to make his high grade lumber mill profitable. Finally he turned to Wood-Mizer industrial thin-kerf headrigs. His employees thought he was crazy... Watch the video to find out what happened!
